This project was inspired by whale falls, a process where deceased whales sink and nourish deep-sea ecosystems. Tasked with creating a website to showcase a process using JavaScript, I chose to focus on this fascinating and unique ecological event.
Considering the short timeframe of this project, I rapidly put together a simple yet effective style guide to direct my design process. I aimed to create a dark, heavy waters, illuminated by a mystical, glow-in-the-dark ambiance.
This theme and the colours guided the choice of videos to improve the website's immersive experience.
The website is designed to give users an experience similar to looking through a submarine window. As you navigate through the site, you'll be taken into the depths of the ocean, guided by the glowing dots indicating the depth of the descent.
The website is designed to work on various screen sizes.
